To become a Meade Dealer, your business must be regularly engaged in the retailing of consumer goods such as, but not limited to, optical products, cameras, consumer electronics, science supplies, nature supplies, etc. You must complete and submit to Meade’s Dealer Support a completed Dealer Application, a signed Dealer Agreement, your reseller’s certificate, be credit worthy, and maintain a storefront location or on-line presence in which customers can visit and/or view a diverse selection of Meade and/or Coronado telescopes and accessories. The dealer specifically agrees to be open for business during normal business hours not fewer than five calendar days a week.
In order to best serve the customer, your business must make reasonable efforts to become acquainted with the Meade products that your retail or e-tail establishment will offer. To this end, Meade Instruments offers training information.
At the time of application, you must also place a minimum initial order of $3,000 with a basic cross section of Meade and/or Coronado products and accessories. Thereafter, Dealers must be in good standing (see Dealer Standards below) and must purchase at least $5,000 in Meade and/or Coronado products in the following calendar year in order to continue as an authorized Meade Dealer. All orders are subject to Meade's acceptance.
Dealer Standards: In order to be a Dealer in good standing, you must meet the following requirements:
- A Dealer must be current in all of its payments to Meade; and
- a Dealer must adhere to Meade’s Statement of Brand Image and Distribution Policy, as set forth below; and
- Dealer shall not directly or indirectly, make or ratify any statement, public or private, oral or written, to any person that disparages the company or its products and services.
